The Hungry Month

Izy at dinner last night: I'm going to still be hungry after dinner mom. I am just ALWAYS hungry.
Me: Well, actually I think you go through phases. Like you'll always be hungry for about a month. Then for a month you'll barely eat anything...
Izy: hmmmm... Well, I guess October is my hungry month!   

2nd Grade

Izaak - Mom! I'm perfect for my grade! I'm eight, and that's an even number. I'm going into second grade and two is an even number!! Just like next year I'll be nine in third grade and they're both odd numbers!
Me - That's right bud! :-)

Minute Made

Izy: Minute Maid? I bet they don't make it in a minute! Wait. Do you think they can make it in a minute?

I know what I'll do mom! When I grow up I'll work for Minute Maid!! I bet they'll tell me then! Yeah, I'll see how they do it.

Izy (happily): Mom, my drink is not too hot!
Me: We got you the "kids temperature."
Izy: Oh, so that's not as hot as adult temperature?
Me: Right!
Izy: I bet Jake gets GRANDPA temperature! Haha!!!


**Jake is a living legend in our house due to his need for ultra hot coffee!

Smarty Pants

After school today Izaak was telling me about how he got a "Smarty Pants" award (Smarties candy). He answered a question about the number of the day, which was 24. The truly funny thing was he wasn't picked to give an example of an equation that equaled 24. He said, "If my teacher asked me, I would have said one million minus nine hundred ninety nine thousand nine hundred and seventy six."

Izaak - My plate (long pause) My tectonic plate!! Hahahaha!

Olivia - Uh, I don't think that's the kind of plate your talking about Izaak! A tectonic plate is under the earth's surface and when two plates come too close together...

Izaak - I KNOW OLIVIA!!!!!!!

Olivia - Sorry! I was just trying to explain...

Izaak - I already know that OlivEEEUUUHH!!!

Me - Alright guys, that's enough.

(another pause)

Izaak - Tectonic butt!!!

Me - IZAAK!!

Izaak - Tectonic chicken tenders!!!
